**Sam got adopted to a family where he can be the only spoiled kitty with a doggy brother and found his home in Oakville. So far he is adjusting well! (May 24, 2017)**

Meet Sam! Sam is a very dapper 7 year old male brown and white tabby. Sam was adopted from us as a kitten but sadly he and his brother no longer see eye to eye, so Sam is looking for a new home.

Sam was adopted into his current family as a kitten with his male sibling. They have lived together as good buddies for the last 7 years but sadly the other male has become territorial and has started to bully Sam. Sam is a calm, quiet but very social boy. He is currently living with a big dog which came into Sam’s life when he was a couple of years old, he was frightened of the dog at first but they are now best friends.

When you get home, he comes running to the door to greet you to say hello. He loves to be picked up and held, when you pick him up, he gives you “head bumps”, he likes to put his forehead against yours and hold it there like a hug.

Sam is very playful and loves attention. His favourite game to play is tug with a giant shoelace and when you let him “win”, he very proudly carries the lace to his bed to keep it safe. He also loves to play with scrunchie little balls, tossing them up in the air and chasing them or throwing them down the stairs to chase them down and bring them back up and all over again.

Sam likes to be wherever the people are in the house, snuggling in beside you on the sofa or lying quietly on the floor at your feet or sleeping patiently at the end of the bed near your feet waiting for you to get up to feed him his morning meal.

Sam eats twice a day, once in the morning when you get up and once in the evening around 4-5pm. The morning meal is kibble and the evening meal is wet food. Currently he is being fed 12 hours apart, the timing of this can be shifted but he seems happy with the 12 hour interval. Sam has just visited the vet and is perfectly healthy. His vaccinations are up to date until 2018 and he is neutered and micro-chipped. He is an inside cat and has never ventured outside but he loves to sit on the back of a comfy chair and look out the window.

Many types of homes would be the perfect new fit for Sam. His only request is to be your only cat. He would be fine with gentle, respectful dogs. He has never lived with small children, but his current family feels he would be fine with them as long as they are not rough with him. He has lived with older children and is fine with them.

Sam is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $165. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption.
