**Taffy was adopted to a family in Mississauga where she will have a chocolate lab sister to play with and a large fenced yard. (Sept 2017)**

As sweet as….Taffy!

Hi, that’s me “Taffy”, I am a 6 year old Westie cross that through no fault of my own is currently looking for a new place to call home.

When I moved into my foster home, I was very nervous for the first few days. I didn’t know what was happening to me and was very unsure of my surroundings. My foster mom was very patient and allowed me time to just be by myself and to check things out. I gradually became interested in what the foster family, dogs and cats were doing and started to join in. Now, I am part of the group.

It only took me a few days to discover the joy of “outside”. I didn’t get a lot of time to run or walk outside in my past life. Now, I wait by the door for my morning walk and I am the first one to get out into the back yard and run. I love to encourage the family dog to play with me. Fresh air feels so good!

If I was asked, I would have to say that “food” is my best friend. I love to eat, and I love treats! It didn’t take me long to learn where the treat cupboard is located and that if I stand by it long enough and look cute enough, I usually get one.

I was crated in my previous home, but in my foster home, I am given the option to stay out. The crate is here if I want to go in, but I have fallen in love with a dog bed and that is where I lay and stay when the people are away. I am a good girl and I don’t get into anything while they are out.

I am fully house trained and I get along with both cats and dogs.

Stairs are a bit of a challenge for me. I have never had to deal with them before. I have mastered the outside ones from the deck to the yard, but inside I just stay on one level of the home. They are slippery and I am not yet ready to try them. That being said, the floors in this new home are also slippery and because of that I don’t jump up on any furniture here; however, in my old home, I was allowed on the couch and bed.

I have never been exposed to kids before, and I think I would prefer to be in a quiet home with kids maybe 10+. Like I said, I get nervous and sudden movements and noises make me anxious. I would be very happy to have a dog or cat for a sister or brother though.

Overall, I am a really calm, sweet girl that likes to go for long walks and to cuddle and to be pet.
