Hi, my name is Brody!

**YAY! Brody went to his new home in Guelph today where he will be well loved and the only dog to be spoiled! (April 2018)**

I am a (35 pound) 5 year old male beagle (cross). I came to GRAB a from a home where I was loved very much, but I had to be placed for adoption as my owners had a child that developed severe allergies. They were very sad to let me go.

I am fully house trained. I will sit at the door and whimper a bit, or sometimes pace back and forth, so my fosters know I need to go outside.

I am a quite content to spend my leisure time on a couch or a chair, and nights on my foster parents' bed. I do have some separation anxiety though. I do not like to be left completely alone. I will sometimes cry a bit, and maybe scratch on a closed door to get our of a room I am not otherwise destructive though, I will settle down. I would be happiest in a home where someone is home more often.

I have a lovely disposition, and I am very friendly with my foster pug. I show her that I want to play, but she isn't interested, so I don't push it, I just leave her be.

I don't mind the resident cat, but I do tend to chase her when she runs away. It is her, not me :).

I am okay on walks with my harness, but I am a typical Beagle, so my nose usually takes control and I can pull a bit.

Speaking of my nose...I do need a fully fenced yard, because as a typical Beagle, I will chase backyard visitors (good thing rabbits are quick) and will try to crawl out the hole they escape through. My foster mom says I have "selective deafness," so, even though I do know my name, you can call and call, but once I got that scent, I am too focused to stop the chase. I also need help with boundaries, because I like to be the first one out the door, so if you aren't as quick as I am...

I was a little anxious in the car during my hour drive to my new foster home, but my previous owner thought that was a little odd, so maybe it was just the stress of the unknown.

I am also pretty quiet as far as Beagles go. I will let out a bit of a howl when I hear someone at the door, but I stop very quickly. My backyard backs on to a park, so there are a lot of other dogs walking past. I stick my nose under the fence to try to meet them, but I do not bark at them at all.

I am also very friendly, I have not shown any signs of aggression, but I am a bit fearful of men at first. Right now I live with 4 men and I was pretty shy at first, but after only a couple of days, I warmed right up to them. I like to play with them in the back yard, and I like to be active, so I could run around for as long as they want to play with me. Now I will even sleep on any of their beds, or snuggle up on the couch with them (although I still prefer "mom" if given the choice).

So, if you are looking for an affectionate, active, really easy going guy, please make arrangements to meet me :)
