Dahlia is the mama of four kittens who came through our program. She is approximately 5 years old as of May 2025. Dahlia has been fostered with her son Percy and they are bonded and would like to be adopted together. Percy is 4 years old as of May 2025.
Dahlia came terrified, unsure how to behave around people but that changed when she learned she was getting the help she needed and her sweet personality bloomed. She has a lovely voice ranging from soft meows, chirps, and trills to let you know she is very happy. Dahlia yearns for attention and loves to weave around your legs, asking for pets on her head and along her back. She is most content when all four feet are on a solid surface.
Although Dahlia is not fond of being held she will climb up on her human to cuddle. Dahlia is very good at using her litter box! In fact, she does such a good job at covering her mess that it is recommended that she have a large or covered litter box as she tends to kick litter further than she needs to. Dahlia usually minds her own business and is happy to sleep in a quiet corner away from other pets, so should there be other pets in her new home, they should be introduced slowly and with absolute patience.
Percy is a calm, quiet boy who can be a little shy with new environments and people. He loves to be cuddled and held all the while purring his heart out. He is a big cat, and affectionately known in his foster home the gentle giant. He likes to play and jump around, and owns the high jump record amongst his foster siblings by at least a foot. He loves his foster siblings and often sleeps cuddled with them or with his human.
Dahlia and Percy are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue. The adoption donation is $400 for both cats together. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application.
