Stella is a 6 year old spayed female who has always received up to date preventive care and has no known health issues or special needs. She is a cross between a Black Lab and a Chesapeake Bay Retriever but is quite large for her breed.
Stella has always lived with both dogs and cats so I think with proper introduction practices she could possibly do fine in a home with either. She would definitely be content as an only-dog as well. Stella would be best suited for a home with adults or older adolescent children, not small/young children (not due to any known aggression but she is very strong and a little clumsy). Stella’s ideal home would have a backyard or porch for her to lounge on.
She is extremely affectionate and very cuddly. She is playful but also happy to lounge on the couch.
She has no significant behavioural concerns with the exception of very occasional/situational leash reactivity around some small breed dogs. Overall she has good recall and can do some tricks as well. Grooming wise she is generally low maintenance but regular brushing is recommended to reduce her shedding
Stella is available for adoption or foster together through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $400.
